So we’re having a Transmog Thursday this week! I had to push through for a deadline and ended up with several bust days afterwards thanks to my ME. As you can probably guess from the set name (set) it’s Paladin time and guess what? It wasn’t based on a set of shoulders! Rejoice! It was a helm this time, namely item which I think is just gorgeous. I am not a big helm fan. I find most of them are big, ugly and as I play female characters they cut my hair off too. So it is highly unusual for me to pick a helm like this and especially for me to make a set based around it. Ideally I would have made a set with the blue version item because I just LOVE the colouring, but once again Blizzard have made a set which doesn’t work with anything else but the items in that set /facepalm Maybe one day I’ll be able to work out a set for it but it wasn’t going to be this week.
This set is by no means perfect, and a little rushed due to this weeks circumstances so I apologise for that. I do throw some blame at Blizzard though for making some awkward coloured items again without offering matching pieces. For example, the chest piece item is a great red bronze breastplate, and you would think that the matching legplates would be the same colour, right? Nope! They’re yellow scale. I eventually found a plain-ish set of legs item to accompany the rest of the set, and the dark tone balances off the head piece a little. I love the shoulders, but again not the best fit as the pale surface is a little too pale for the outfit and in some light stands out like a sore thumb.

Every Tuesday is #TransmogTuesday and I’ll be posting with a new creation. My main is a discipline priest called Kaelea, so I do tend to edge towards cloth transmogs more than anything else. The aim of this project is to push my own boundaries, to get creative and work on some themes and ideas I’d normally not consider. That means I’m open to suggestions! Themes, colours, a transmog set around a particular item? Let me know 🙂
Over To You
Not my best work but I hope some of you like this one!
How do you deal with awkward coloured items that just refuse to fit together?
Do you have a trick to get them to work?
Or is it a case of hours searching for the perfect pieces or giving up and trying something else?
Let me know in the comments, as always I’d love to hear from you 🙂
