Until about 2005 I never really played many games, and then World of Warcraft came along and I was hooked. I mainly play PC games as long term use of consoles hurts my hands thanks to a lovely health condition I have called Hypermobility Syndrome, see the health page for more information. I’ve played games such as Dragon Age 1 & 2, Star Wars Galaxies, Dark Age of Camelot, Pharoah, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, Terraria, Natural Selection, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Starcraft, Warcraft, and Spellforce. As you can probably glean from that list I prefer RPGs and MMORPGs.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is my currently most played game. It is a relatively new game that opened in December 2011 and I fell in love with it in the beta. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since childhood and have kept up with the Expanded Universe novels since discovering them at the age of 13. It is my number one love and fandom, so it isn’t surprising that I love this game. For me it is a mixture of World of Warcraft and Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2. I did try Star Wars Galaxies for a time but found it far too confusing to play which broke my heart. So as soon as I heard about a new Star Wars MMO I was thrilled.

My main character is Kaelea, a Sith Sorceror on the Sith’ari EU server. After reaching 50 and completing her storyline – which was epic – my fiance and I started to play Republic characters to go through that storyline. So at present (26th January 2012) I am working by way through a Jedi Consular.

World of Warcraft was previously my favorite and most played game, and I have raided through all the content prior to Dragon Soul. Raiding is playing as a group of people, usually 10 or 25, and working as a team to kill harder bosses. So it is very much a social experience that works a lot like a team sport. I started on the server Arathor, then went to Kul’Tiras (where I met my fiance, Chris), then to Ghostlands before finally settling on Aerie Peak. I am currently in the guild Excited State which is a fun social guild made of friends that also raids three nights a week. That might make you think ‘oh so they’re pretty behind in content…’, as of writing this (2nd Sept 11) we have cleared all of Firelands except for Ragnaros, whom we hope to see go down this week.

My first character was a balance druid, and then my main became my current main; Kaelea, a discipline priest. I have proudly been a discipline priest all the way through WoW, back in the days of classic and all the way through now to Cataclysm. My druid is my second character, Aleassa, and after that I have a Paladin, Death Knight, Mage, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior and Hunter – half of which are currently 85 and the rest range from low levels to level 80.

I’ve already mentioned raiding as one of my pasttimes in WoW, my other big one is achievement. Yep, I am an achievement junky. I actually did the original Lore Master achievement on two characters. I love the challenge of them, and love collecting pets and mounts. Otherwise I’m leveling, searching for rares with archaeology or very occasionally pvping.
