Anyone who’s followed me on instagram for a while will know that I love photo challenges, unfortunately, they’re not something I always have time for 🙁 That doesn’t mean I can’t live vicariously through you guys though! 😉 So this week for Sharing Saturday I’m sharing 5 challenges people have put together for the month of September! Don’t be put off by it being the 9th day already, there’s nothing stopping you from jumping in now or catching up by back posting! Most of these sites/accounts have one each month so if September’s too busy or you want to start from the beginning just follow their accounts and hang on until October for a new challenge 🙂
The great thing about challenges is that you can do them at any time; while it’s fun to do them alongside other people, you can take inspiration from old challenges too! Head over to my pinterest board to find a bunch of old ones that I’ve stockpiled! ((Banner image from Public Domain Images.))
Happy Saturday everyone! This week the Argus patch went live on the World of Warcraft servers and so this week Sharing Saturday is dedicated to the Draenei that once called Argus home. I’ve collected a selection of Draenei products from around the internet so you can share your Draenei pride or show your support as they take the fight to the Legion!
World of Warcraft Ladies’ Draenei Robe, $129.99, from Think Geek.
Phadalus the Enlightened art print, £19.99, by Glenn Rane.
I noticed in my hunt that poor Draenei are one of the most under presented races when it comes to World of Warcraft products. Do you have any Draenei products to share? Would you like to see other race and/or class specific products? Let me know in the comments!
I was supposed to be rounding off the week of World of Warcraft on a more serious note with ‘Why I always report harassment in Games & why you should too’ and while I do still intend to write that post, now doesn’t seem the right time. I’ve been celebrating a game I love, and dipping into the darker and more childish side of trolls and harassment just doesn’t have the same vibe. So instead I’m joining my final post with Sharing Saturday, and sharing with you my favourite World of Warcraft art. This includes a variety of sources; official art, fan art, trading card art and some art from Blizzard’s online card game Hearthstone.
I’ve done several World of Warcraft themed Sharing Saturdays before that might also interest you!
Disclaimer: The work here is displayed only out of admiration and credit is given for every image (where possible I use the ’embed’ code directly from sites such as instagram or deviantArt). If you are the artist and want your work removed please leave me a comment. If you like some of the art here please take the time to visit the artist’s gallery or deviantArt account, and/or leave a comment to let them know. This is probably obvious, but: this post is very image heavy.
Whether you’re a gamer, a writer or a roleplayer, names can be an important part of your character creation. Over the years as I’ve graduated from roleplayer to gamer and then onto writer I’ve grown a collection of go to generators and resources for finding names. Here are some of my favourite ones!
Yep, that says dog names, you’re not mistaken. It has an absolutely amazing list of different names, from characters, to mythology to countries. It has so much variety that it makes it great for everything you might need a name for!
I love this site and it’s sister site for surnames because of it’s diversity and how easy it is to search or narrow down categories. It has a great selection and has resulted in many of my character’s names over the years!
I absolutely adore this site and use it all the time for naming my World of Warcraft battle pets. It has all the pantheons you can think of and then some – and unlike most mythological lists it doesn’t just list the main/popular deities. It lists them all, big or small, including spirits and other mythological creatures.
This has been my go to site for Star Wars and World of Warcraft names for years, and it has grown into a huge site with tonnes of generators. There’s pretty much every video game you can imagine, DnD, pop culture, lists of creature names and even one for weapons! This is a must have bookmark for any gamer.
As a part of Arwen-Undomiel.com, this section of the site has a list of male and female English names translated into Elvish. It’s a great way to come up with new character names, especially for fantasy stories and games. Mine, Heather, is Lothiriel 🙂
I hope you’ve enjoyed this list and found some useful resources! Do you use name generators? Have any to share? Let me know!
Bookmarks, those wonderful, bright and colourful things that help save your page – and if you’re me, you can never ever find when you need them. Doesn’t stop me collecting them though! I’m always on the look out for new ones, especially quirky and intricate ones. Here is a selection of my best finds from etsy to help you save your place in style!
I’ll need to get my own bookmarks together (if I can find them) and share them with you all sometime! Do you prefer the standard rectangle card style bookmark or do you prefer other styles? Maybe you’re like me and pick the bookmark on it’s own design rather than format. Let me know in the comments!
