This week’s prompt was for retro video games, but sadly, I didn’t really play video games back when they could be considered retro. So I’ve gone back a few years and picked one I could answer; mothers! This one still took a while for me to get into, and I really need to read/watch more stuff that has actual mothers in it. I went through a mental list of most recent books read and every time it was ‘mother dead/MIA’. I also didn’t want to fall back on old favourites that I’ve mentioned before in other ways (Leia, Padme from Star Wars for example).  Read More →

The Geeky Girl Tag

I love surveys, memes, challenges – anything that asks me to answer things that I haven’t thought up myself. I’ll often repost those ‘ask me…’ graphics on twitter and instagram to see what people come up with. So when I saw this geeky girl tag answered by Kitten at The Howling Wolfheart I had to jump in! The tag is originally by Cassie at ZombieGoddess Beauty and she has also done a Gamer Tag too! 1. What is your must-have tech gadget? 5 Fandom Friday - geeky coffee mugs

This weeks prompt is a special one to celebrate the birthday of one of the 5 Fandom Friday creators, Megan at The Nerdy Girlie. Happy birthday Megan! Unfortunately, I had to tweak the prompt a bit as I don’t visit coffee shops much. I wanted to keep with the coffee theme to honour Megan so I’m sharing my favourite geeky coffee mugs! Please note – this post contains affiliate links.   Troll Dress Up Mug I spotted this in a store last year and geeked out about it; Chris was not impressed. I loved trolls when I was a kid and the idea of beingRead More →

Small business and blogger etsy stores

I took a break last weekend as I was still polishing off the new blog theme and features, so this week I wanted to make a special Sharing Saturday. So I decided to get personal. As a part of Holiday Wishes I had offered to fulfil some wishes by promoting their etsy stores. I absolutely love etsy, there is always something for everyone and being an oddball geek I don’t tend to find ‘my style’ in main shops, so etsy is wonderful for finding things that are really me. I also admire people who are able to create, and put their work out there forRead More →

5 Fandom Friday - Nerdy places to visit

I have to admit; this week’s prompt had me a little stumped and it took me a while to think it through. For me, nerdy locations are a mixture of fandom related and cultural related. I’m not one for going to visit a location where my favourite movie was filmed, for example. So here is my top 5 nerdy places I’d like to visit! If you’re curious, I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to places I’d like to visit and another listing places I’ve already visited.   Aphrodite’s Temple, Aphrodisias Turkey As a Pagan my patron goddess is Aphrodite, and so for me toRead More →
